About Us
The Sarvaam Foundation Canada is a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs and their families in Sri Lanka. Guided by values of compassion, inclusion, and empowerment, we strive to provide critical resources and create sustainable solutions for marginalized communities. Through the support of our global network of volunteers, we continue to make a meaningful impact on those who need it most.
Our History & Evolution
The journey of Sarvaam Foundation began in 2017 when a group of friends visited Sri Lanka and witnessed the immense challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families. Moved by the lack of resources and support systems available, these friends inspired the founding of an organization dedicated to creating change.
From this vision, the Foundation was established with a focus on providing targeted assistance to these underserved families. Over time, it grew into Sarvaam Foundation Canada, a registered charity in Canada. Today, we are powered by over 200 youth and adult volunteers across the globe, working together to improve lives and uplift communities.
Our commitment extends beyond Sri Lanka, as we support vulnerable populations both locally and internationally, reflecting our mission of global solidarity and service.
Key Milestones and Achievements
Since our inception, Sarvaam Foundation Canada has achieved significant milestones, including:
- Support for Girls’ Dignity: By the end of 2024, we provided over 8,000 schoolgirls with essential undergarments, promoting dignity and comfort for young women in need.
- Special Needs Clinics: More than 60 children with special needs currently benefit from the services of two specialized clinics established in partnership with local hospitals. These clinics, located in underserved districts, provide free therapeutic care and resources for children and their families. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce plans to open additional clinics in 2025, further expanding support for children with special needs in Sri Lanka.
- Drinking water Project: Through our clean water initiative, rural communities in Sri Lanka have benefitted from access to safe water, improving overall living conditions.
- Outreach to the Homeless in Canada: Over 10,000 “healthy brown bags” filled with nutritional items have been distributed to homeless individuals in GTA, offering immediate relief to those facing hunger.
These initiatives highlight our unwavering commitment to addressing diverse challenges, from immediate assistance to long-term empowerment.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow, Sarvaam Foundation Canada remains steadfast in its mission to build a world where every child and family can thrive with dignity, access, and opportunity. Our plans for 2025 and beyond reflect our dedication to creating sustainable, impactful solutions for the communities we serve.
We continually experiment. We fail quickly and productively. We use data and feedback to guide our course.
Volunteers are ordinary people like yourself who are interested in making a difference in their community.
