Sarvaam Foundation Canada is a registered
charitable organization dedicated creating and lasting, positive change in the lives of
underserved individuals and communities in
both Sri Lanka and Canada.
Rooted in the core values of compassion,
inclusion, and empowerment, our mission is
to uplift those facing hardship by delivering
thoughtful, community-based programs that
address critical needs and foster long-term
well-being.
Whether it’s providing therapeutic care for children with special needs , offering essential undergarments to school-aged girls from low-income families, building clean water infrastructure in remote villages in Sri Lanka, or supporting the homeless with nourishing meals in
Canada —we are committed to making a meaningful impact where it is
needed most.
At Sarvaam Foundation Canada, we believe that every individual deserves
dignity, opportunity, and hope—and we work tirelessly to turn that belief
into action.
We provide free, specialized therapeutic treatment for children with developmental and physical disabilities, supporting their ability to thrive both at home and within educational settings. At present, we operate three treatment centres across three districts in Sri Lanka. These centres offer safe and nurturing environments for over 75 children, delivering services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, pediatric and neurological consultations, as well as academic support. Our initiatives enable many of these children to remain enrolled in school and continue their education—an opportunity that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
Access to safe drinking water remains a critical challenge in many rural areas in Sri Lanka. Sarvaam Foundation Canada has supported the construction of several drinking water wells in underserved villages. These wells provide clean, reliable water to hundreds of families, significantly improving health, sanitation, and overall quality of life.
Recognizing the importance of basic personal dignity, we have distributed over 8,000 sets of undergarments to school-aged girls from economically disadvantaged families. This simple yet impactful initiative not only promotes personal hygiene but also helps boost self-esteem and school participation among young girls—empowering them to learn with confidence and pride.
In Canada, Sarvaam Foundation Canada (SFC) is committed to addressing food insecurity and supporting the well-being of the homeless population through our “Healthy Brown Bag” initiative. This program delivers nutritious, ready- to-eat meals along with essential care items to individuals experiencing homelessness or extreme poverty. Each brown bag is thoughtfully prepared to include balanced, wholesome food that provides both nourishment and comfort. There are personal care items such as hygiene products, socks, and dry food packages are being donated to food banks regularly by SFC . Our outreach is driven by dignity, compassion, and community spirit. By consistently showing up for those in need, we aim not only to meet immediate physical needs but also to foster a sense of connection, respect, and hope among Canada’s most vulnerable populations.
Our journey began in 2017, when a group of friends visited Sri Lanka and witnessed
firsthand the challenges faced by special needs children and their families. Moved by
the lack of resources and support, they were inspired to act—planting the seeds for
what would become Sarvaam Foundation Canada.
Over time, this vision evolved into Sarvaam Foundation Canada, a registered
Canadian charity. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a volunteer-
powered movement of over 200 youth and adult supporters across the globe, dedicated
to creating meaningful, lasting change in Sri Lanka and Canada.
As we move forward, Sarvaam Foundation Canada remains committed to building aworld a place where every child and family—whether in Sri Lanka or Canada—has the opportunity to live with dignity, health, and hope. Our 2025 plans focus on expanding our clinics, increasing the reach of our schoolgirl dignity program, drilling more wells, and growing our food outreach in Canada.Together, with your support, we can continue creating real, sustainable impact—one life at a time.
