We are pleased to announce that one of Sarvaam Foundation Canada’s key goals—establishing a dedicated therapy centre for children with special needs—was successfully realized with the opening of a new Special needs treatment Centre at Kilinochchi District Hospital on June 4, 2025.
This marks Sarvaam’s third major milestone in this initiative. Since 2022, our dedicated volunteer medical team has been providing free therapeutic care at Kalmunai Base Hospital, followed by the launch of similar services at Mullaitivu District Hospital in 2023. Through their unwavering commitment, over 70 children have shown remarkable improvement in their physical and developmental well-being.
We gratefully acknowledge the pioneering efforts of Dr. Kalaichelvi, the pediatrician at Mullaitivu Hospital, whose initiative played a critical role in starting this journey. We are equally thankful for the continued support and active involvement of Dr. Shanmugapriya, the pediatrician currently serving at Kilinochchi District Hospital, whose collaboration helped bring this new unit to life.
